Are you Responsible?
What exactly does that mean to be responsible? According to the dictionary, an example IS to be ""Able to be trusted or depended upon". Are you that kind of person? Are you a responsible parent, spouse, employee or neighbor? Many people can say they are the first three, but what about being a good neighbor? Being a good neighbor means more than just saying hi to the people who live near you. To
determine whether you are a good neighbor, ask yourself the following: Do you ignore your dog's droppings when you take it for a walk? Do you leave your trash cans out for days on end before you put them away in your back yard? Do you leave trash allover the place teaching your children that it is ok for them to do the same? Do you allow your dog to bark all day or all night and do nothing about it? Do you allow your home to deteriorate to a point where the paint is peeling, and your grass is knee high? Do you park all of your cars directly in front of your home without any concern to your fellow townhouse owners? If you can answer yes to any of these questions, then you are not a good neighbor.
Living in a neighborhood as ours requires responsible homeowners. It only takes a few seconds to stop and think about what you are doing and to make that judgment call -are my actions going to affect the people who live around me?
Many of the complaints that are received by Trenton Property Services, Inc. and the BHS Board of Directors are exactly what I have listed above. These are simple day-to-day things that people think about and choose not to do. Not to mention, housing prices in our area have recently exploded where a townhouse can sell for upwards of $175,000 and some single-family homes are nearing $300,000. By maintaining your homes and surroundings we will be able to continue to reap the benefits.
Unfortunately, some neighbors feel that it is ok to allow their homes to deteriorate. To those homeowners. ..please make the necessary changes in your life and become a responsible homeowner and a responsible neighbor. Everyone will benefit including you.
-Sue Perouty, President
