    Picking Up the Tab

That is exactly what those of us who pay our dues in a timely manner are doing for those who do not. The most recent statements for the Box Hill South Homeowners' Association ("BHS-HOA") show that the association is owed more than $15,000 in past due homeowners' fees. If you have noticed, BHS-HOA is still providing all of the regular services that it has for many years and those bills are all being paid as they come in. And TRUST ME, they keep coming in.

So what is my point? It is just a little advance notice that the dues will probably be increasing for the upcoming budget year 2002. The upcoming budget is going to account for non-payment of dues, which means the rest of us will incur more expense to cover the cost of

doing business. The business includes trash removal, grounds maintenance, management fees as well others services and expenses.

In reference to those delinquent HOA accounts, we are aggressively attempting to collect -the monies owed through an attorney. We have placed liens on properties and will use all means available to reduce the delinquencies.

Should you have questions or concerns regarding your association, visit the"BHS HOA" website at www.BHSHOA.com or e-mail the board at [email protected] Oh! Better yet, come to your annual membership meeting. It's informative and it affects you.

HAVE A SAFE, WONDERFUL AND HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON!

    Rob Furlong, President, BHS-HOA

    Thank You!

The Board of Directors wish to extend our thanks to George Toepfer for all of his hard work and dedication to the community. George has taken on the task of planting and maintaining the flower beds that you see when you come into the neighborhood from Rt. 924. The beds are at the entrance to the single family homes.

    DATES TO REMEMBER

    Volunteers needed for patrol

    November 8th

    Annual Meeting

In light of the recent events in our country, we would like to take a moment to express our condolences for those who have lost or know of someone that has lost loved ones in the tragic events. It seems that everyone has been touched in one way or another.

Please continue to keep these people in your thoughts and prayers over the coming months.

Donations can be made to the Red Cross at 1-8OO-GlVE-LIFE.

Trick or Treating is right around the corner...we recommend that you let your children go out from 5:30pm - 8:00 pm. It is also recommended that you only visit homes with porch lights on. Remember to carry flashlights and watch out for cars.

We need volunteers to patrol the neighborhood on October 30th and 31st. We have done this for the past several years and it has really seemed to cut down on the amount of vandalism that sometimes happens on those two nights. If you are interested in helping out for an hour or two, please send an e-mail to the Board ([email protected]) and someone will get in touch with you.

Fall is here and soon everyone will be going indoors for the winter. Before you so that, please make sure your lawn is cut one last time, all toys are put away and that your house is in good condition for the coming months.

    ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting for the Box Hill South Community will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2001 at 7:30pm at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Abingdon. This is your chance to come out and meet the members of the Board. This is also the chance for you to voice your concerns on things that are happening around your neighborhood. The church is only minutes away...carpool with your neighbors and come out and see what is going on. This is your community too!

    PLEASE REMEMBER!

Your HOA fees are due the 1st of every month. Our thanks to those who always pay promptly. The association needs your dues in order to pay the monthly expenses.

The Board realizes there was some confusion regarding the spring clean up with the dumpsters. We are taking some steps to assure that there will be time for everyone to use the dumpsters next spring. Be sure to attend the annual meeting for more details. We apologize for any confusion.

Christmas will be here before we know it. With Christmas comes all the beautiful decorations we like to put out. While it is good to keep the spirit of the holidays in our hearts for the whole year, it is not good to keep our lights up throughout the year. Please make a concerted effort to take down outdoor holiday lighting in a timely manner.

The cold weather is right around the corner. The association will have a contractor remove the snow from the private courts. It is the responsibility of each homeowner to remove any snow from your front walkway and sidewalk. Removing snow and ice helps prevent accidents. Now is also a good time to check your furnace and change the filters.

Please remember to clean up after your pets when you walk them, whether it is in the common areas or your own yard. County law as well as our Community rules and regulations require this. Please work together to keep the community clean.
